Fake Santas won’t be the only one ringing bells on behalf of the Salvation Army:
The Jonas Brothers look way better than your usual department store Santa. This is a nice PSA. I’m glad to see the Jonas Brothers are keeping up their good boy image and using their power for good.
Courtney Cox and husband David Arquette are part of the Feed America campaign. The pair, and a variety of other celebrities including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Scott Hamilton are banding together to motivate Americans to fight hunger in their own country.
In today’s economy food banks are suffering. Celebrities are hoping to bring attention to this matter and help raise the necessary funds so we can feed the hungry in America.
So this is your call, people. The starving people in America need you. Our food banks need you. If you can’t donate money get together those cans and boxes of food you have gathering dust in the back of your closet that you’ll never eat. You know what I’m talking about. Those cans of garbanzo beans you bought to make hummus but had some leftover and don’t know what to do with, or those cans of lima beans that were on sale but your family won’t eat. Those. Give them to the food banks. Everyone can help somehow.
Here’s your first peek. Barack Obama has been named GQ’s Man of the Year. I don’t think this will be the only magazine giving him this honor. What do you think?
Regardless of his political affiliation you can’t deny he worked hard to get where he is and he made history. He’s certainly deserving of the accolades.
He may be a jetsetter but soccer hottie David Beckham has always been a hands on dad. Both his and his wife Victoria Beckham are often seen out with their kids and enjoying their time together.
Here David and his sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz take in a Lakers game on November 15th. Looks like they’re all pretty into it, doesn’t it?
My Big Fat Greek Wedding star, Nia Vardalos, and her husband, Ian Gomez, has adopted a baby girl. The little girl is said to be just a toddler. Her name has not been released.
“They are going public now to bring attention to National Adoption Month and the 500,000 children in foster care,” says a statement released by Vardalos’ rep to E!. “Of these children, 129,000 are ‘legally free’ for adoption and waiting for a family.”
Academy Award winning actress Charlize Theron has been named a “Messenger of Peace” by the United Nations. Charlize will be speaking out against violence towards women.
There will be ten Messengers of Peace in all, all celebrities, who will be making public appearances on behalf of the United Nations.
Charlize knows something about domestic violence. Her father, who was an abusive alcoholic, was shot and killed by her mother who was protecting the family when he was in a drunken rage. Imagine growing up with that.
Rock on, Charlize. It can’t be easy to relive your ordeal, but we salute you for trying to make a difference.
We at the Celebrity Role Model blog feel it’s always a good time to talk about Hugh Jackman, even if he didn’t do anything role model-y that day. As far as we know he’s a pretty good egg. In addition to being a family man, he also supports the Global Poverty Project which always puts him in our good graces. Besides, he looks darn good walking on the beach.
Heartthrobs and supposed good boys, the Jonas Brothers, are seen here at the 77 Kids by American Eagle celebration on the 15th.
The 77 Kids line is a new young kids’ line by the American Eagle Outfitters and are apparently only available online. We don’t know if there were 77 kids at the party or if only 77 kids are wearing the clothes, but the Jonas Brothers are so darn cute it doesn’t matter.
Bruce Springsteen has been supporting the Food Bank of New Jersey for over 23 years now. The Boss has donated proceeds from his concerts and even encouraged food drives at his concerts. Now he’s going to be a part of an advertising campaign entitled, “We Can’t Let This Bank Fail!”
According to an article at Time.com, this economy is affecting food banks and leading to stepping up their food drives and even rationing supplies. They’re hopeful that by making Bruce Springsteen as the face of the food bank they’ll be able to feed all of the state’s hungry people.
Rock on, Bruce. You still have our back in New Jersey.
